Profile

Dr Rajitha Samarappulige graduated from the University of Colombo – Sri Lanka in 2015.

He has gained extensive experience as a GP in Sri Lanka for more than six years, and also in General Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Gynecology and Obstetrics while working in the public hospital sector in Sri Lanka for over eight years.

After moving to Australia in 2024, he broadened his expertise by working as a Registrar in the Intensive Care Unit at Manning Base Hospital, Taree, NSW for one and half years.

He obtained his specialist qualifications from the esteemed Royal college of General Practitioners in the United Kingdom as an international member in 2025, and has been qualified to enrol in the Australian specialist GP pathway.

Dr Rajitha strongly believes in providing considerate, empathetic and holistic care to the local community. He believes the most rewarding aspect of specialising as a General Practitioner is “having the opportunity to provide holistic family care, provide service to the community and build long-term relationships with patients.”

Dr Rajitha lives in Goulburn with his wife Ranga, who is also a GP in Marima Medical Clinic. He speaks Sinhalese and English.

He enjoys playing Cricket and traveling with wife during his leisure time.
